There are several locations you’re going to need to fight your way through in Diablo 2: Resurrected to complete numerous quests on your journey to save the world from Diablo’s return. One of these locations is the Hellforge, and you’re going to find it while exploring the River of Flame region in Act VI. You’ll be finding this location for the Hell’s Forge quest in preparation to face off against Diablo.

Hell's Forge must be completed to prevent Mephisto from coming back and wreaking havoc once more. This quest is also one of the steps to prepare for the fight with Diablo at the end of Act IV. It starts off with Hadriel barring entry into Diablo’s Lair until you smash Mephisto’s Soulstone in the Hellforge. You get the Soulstone either on your own at the end of Act III or from Deckard Cain at the start of this quest. Either way, your next order of business is to find the River of Flame (more on that below), in which the Hellforge spawns.

At the Hellforge, you’ll have to fight a powerful demon called Hephasto the Armorer, who drops the Hellforge Hammer. Equip the hammer and click the Hellforge, and the Soulstone should automatically leave your inventory and appear on the forge. Attack it with the hammer until it explodes in a shower of Runes and Gems and other prizes.

Now for the tricky part. The River of Flame is difficult to navigate, and finding the Hellforge itself is tricky. Other locations like the Spider Cavern are hard to find because of randomized map layout, but here the map itself is hard to read in addition to being randomized. Players must carefully explore all branching paths into the river: one of these will lead to the Hellforge.

Diablo 2: Resurrected has many challenging quests and enemies that players will need to prepare for. Due to the random nature of each area in the game, players will likely spend a lot of time exploring areas like the River of Flame and the Hellforge. Fighting Diablo 2: Resurrected bosses like Duriel or Hephasto the Armorer requires a diverse skill set to combat their immunities.

Where is Hellforge in Diablo 2
The Hellforge Location in Diablo 2 appears somewhere at random in The River of Flames. You get there by finding a large, spiral staircase leading down somewhere in the City of the Damned zone. The location of the staircase is random, too, but it’ll probably be closer to the middle rather than the edges. There should also be a waypoint somewhere close to the stairs. As for the Hellforge itself, it can be pretty much anywhere in The River of Flames; the one thing we can tell you is that, if you come across a corridor of demon statues with a waypoint near it, go the other way. Once you manage to find the Hellforge location, proceed with the quest as described above.
