Video game makers almost lost a key advantage in the switch to digital games that Microsoft and Sony pulled off with this console generation. Suddenly, you didn’t need to pre-order game because you could simply download the title on release day directly from your console. Vanquished was the fear that you wouldn’t be able to pick up your favorite game on release day. Stock of digital titles aren’t limited in the same way disc titles are.

 

As evidenced with its newly revealed cover -- emblazoned with "A SPIKE LEE JOINT" across the top and the prominence of the text "BE THE STORY" along the bottom -- it appears the developer is more concerned with what kind of story you're going to play in a sports game and continues to want to treat the actual sports part as an afterthought. Speaking with USA Today, NBA 2K spokesman Ryan Peters said Spike Lee shot about 90 minutes of "cinematic narrative." A narrative that generates about 12 hours of in-game drama. Drama. 12 hours. In a sports game where your main goal is to play sports.

 

One important factor governing the video game industry as all gamers know is the mega show video game convention E3. It will not be hard to guess the fact that the E3 will provide 2K with a perfect platform for launching NBA 2k16 and thereafter a release in Oct 15. Perhaps this is what 2K has been waiting for if more and more drawbacks crop up in NBA 2K16. This will mean that fans will have no option but to buy the present version and wait patiently for the next. Call it business sense or faulty fan perception 2K will need this time to take serious note of all major suggestions rather than basing improvements on earlier features that have been removed.

 

With the release of NBA 2K16 featuring superstar Kevin Durant on the cover, the pro basketball game is well underway to its 16th edition. Based on the concept of the NBA and featuring highly rated stars it was first conceived in 1999, the latest version despite glitches, promises to elevate the franchise to the next gen level. Despite of the NBA 2k game being a big hit with fans worldwide there are certain aspects of the game that needs improvement if 2k sports are serious on meeting next gen standards. MyPark sounds great, but the sad truth is it doesn't work yet. As many times as I've tried, I've only been able to choose my faction because the servers are completely unreliable. It's a shame because this is one of the features I was really looking forward to. Hopefully 2K Sports gets things smoothed out soon.

 

NBA 2K16 plays and feels just like NBA 2K15 gameplay-wise, and that's both good and bad. You always expect some new gameplay mechanic from the game each year, but this year they instead focused on revamping the movement and shot release systems. That said, the new presentation is completely jaw dropping. Any NBA television show could use the presentation from 2K16 for their own program, because it is top-notch. I have never bothered with sports games probably because watching men run around chasing a ball seemed too tiring. That being said this game has opened my eyes to the enjoyment offered by a really well put together game. I actually WANT to go home and play this, something I never thought I’d hear myself say!
